For the first time in almost two years, the PlaMES consortium was able to meet in person in the beautiful medieval context of the History department of the University of Bologna in San Giovanni in Monte, Bologna.
During this two days we were able to discuss multiple points regarding the current tool beta, the models and the future exploitation activities necessary to launch the service into the market. It was a great moment to summarize the project activities and consolidate some technical aspects such as data management, model input and output and future IT architecture. Models results were analyzed in specific workshops, moderated by Optit, with the objective to understand all the nuances of the models and the implication of certain sensitivity analysis.
Then, we had the opportunity to catch-up in person, share ideas, and consolidate relationships under the tiepid spring sun of Bologna. People from three different countries were able to walk around the medieval city, spend time together at dinner and social events, such as the visit to the astronomy museum of “La Specola”, in an environment that could only be possible in the context of the European Union and its principles of openness and common development across nations.
In the next months, we’ll work hard trying to advance and bring to society a new way of analyzing energy systems entering into the age of multi-energy strategic development.
