On January 21st the partners met to officially kick-off the development of the PlaMES digital tool. The work package, led by Optit, will focus on data management, IT infrastructure, models integration and user interaction. The meeting was useful as a foundation for the work that will be performed in the next month with the objective to release a first beta version by early 2022.
The first step is to build a reliable and well-structured database to handle the enormous amount of data that will be used by the various models at the heart of the tool. Optit and RWTH already started working on this task looking for the best practices and approach in handling data for multi energy scenarios at different level of granularity, from distribution to high voltage transmission networks.
With the help of all partner, Optit will also start working on the front-end of the future tool collecting information and developing ideas on how the final user will be able to interact with the tool, launch models, change data and run scenario with different assumptions also keeping security at the highest possible level. The agile technique will be leveraged upon in order to keep the workflow and the team engaged in a lean but consistent way and drive results since the beginning of the activities. The next few months will be very challenging and key to the final results of the project so If you are interest in getting to know more about the partners and the project activities follow us on twitter and LinkedIn.
